Our 7th grade students received their STEAM kits today! These kits are designed to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and hands-on exploration across science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
We encourage families to check in with their student about the contents of the kit—there are even opportunities to try a fun, educational experiment together right at home.

A special congratulations to McKinna Ferrell who won 1st place 7th Grade Overall and 1st Place Physical Science, and a special congratulations to Raylen McGlaun who won 1st Place Overall in Inventor’s Corner!

CCMS is hosting a Family STEAM Night on February 1st from 5:30 to 6:30! This STEAM Night is career focused, so our families will learn more about the different technologies involved in a variety of careers. We will have South Georgia Tech, Sumter EMC, along with representatives from the Georgia Forestry Commission, and the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. In addition, our district’s College and Career Academy will be in attendance giving families the opportunity to tour our Auto Lab, Production Studio, and Robotics Lab. We hope to see you at our CCMS Family STEAM Night!
The Chattahoochee Valley Technology Competition will be held on December 16th at Shaw High School! Scan the QR codes to access rubrics for each category and to join our Chattco team! This is a great opportunity for our students to showcase their technology skills! Seniors also have a chance to win a $250 scholarship for each category, or win the Lou Dewberry Scholarship ($750).
CCMS is hosting a Family Literacy STEAM Night on November 9th from 5:30 to 6:30! We invite families to participate in hands-on, interactive STEAM activities that highlight books in our school media center. Families will have the opportunity to browse our Book Fair, and Scoops Ice Cream will be available for purchase! In addition, South Ga Technical College is bringing their mobile STEM lab equipped with different automobile simulators, drones, and other types of technology that highlight technical programs offered at SGTC. Leading up to the event, students can complete a Book Talk for a chance to win a $25 Amazon gift card! We hope to see you at the first CCMS Family STEAM Night of the new school year!
